In the middle of the dog days of summer, when the heat is exhausting and the leaves and petals of most flowers become brittle, zinnias never fail me. The variety of colors, petals, sizes, and shapes are endless. They are simply beautiful.

There are always butterflies floating around this bed.

They are so pretty in the bed that I hate to cut them, but my husband is pretty good at cutting them and arranging pretty bouquets. I enjoy them both in the ground and in a vase on the table.
